Second Steward (Fulltime)

As a Second Steward, you support the stewarding team by maintaining exceptional cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all back-of-house areas to ensure safe and efficient kitchen operations. You uphold HACCP and food safety standards, assist the First Steward and culinary team, and ensure all equipment, utensils, and workstations are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and operational excellence.

What you will do

Support the First Steward in the daily operations of the stewarding department and ensure efficient back-of-house operations.

Perform dishwashing, pot wash, cleaning, and sanitation tasks according to established standards and procedures.

Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, cookware, tableware, and workstations are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for service.

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all back-of-house areas in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.

Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen operations, events, and special functions by preparing and organizing service equipment.

Use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals safely and according to approved procedures.

Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance requirements, supply shortages, or food safety concerns to the First Steward.

Assist in guiding and supporting Galley Stewards while promoting efficient teamwork.

Ensure all cleaning equipment and stewarding areas are properly maintained and organized throughout the shift.

Collaborate closely with the culinary team, Stewarding department, and Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Your profile

Minimum 1 year of stewarding, cleaning, or back-of-house support experience.

Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene, sanitation procedures, food safety regulations, and HACCP principles.

Experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or high-volume food service environment is preferred.

Good communication and teamwork skills with a proactive and reliable attitude.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional cleanliness and operational standards.

Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Food Handler Permit or willingness to obtain certification.
