Galley Steward (Fulltime)
As a Galley Steward, you support the stewarding team by maintaining exceptional cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across all back-of-house areas to ensure safe and efficient kitchen operations. You uphold HACCP and food safety standards, assist the First and Second Stewards, and help ensure all equipment, utensils, and workstations are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and operational excellence.
What you will do
Support the daily operations of the stewarding department by performing dishwashing, pot wash, cleaning, and sanitation tasks.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, cookware, utensils, tableware, workstations, floors, and other back-of-house areas according to established standards.
Ensure all cleaned equipment and service items are properly stored and readily available for kitchen operations.
Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen operations, events, and special functions by transporting and organizing service equipment.
Dispose of kitchen waste according to established waste management and hygiene procedures.
Use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals safely and according to approved procedures.
Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance requirements, supply shortages, or food safety concerns to the Second Steward.
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all assigned back-of-house areas in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
Collaborate closely with the stewarding team and culinary team to ensure efficient daily operations.
Your profile
No previous stewarding experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Basic understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working practices.
Experience in a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual cleaning tasks.
Food Handler Permit or willingness to obtain certification.
