Commis Chef Pastry (Fulltime)
As a Commis Chef Pastry, you support the pastry team in preparing and presenting high-quality desserts and pastries while ensuring consistency, food safety, and presentation standards. You work closely with senior pastry chefs, maintain HACCP compliance, and develop your pastry skills while contributing to memorable dessert experiences that exceed guest expectations.
What you will do
Support the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and other sweet creations according to approved recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
Assist with mise en place preparation and ensure the pastry section is fully prepared before production and service.
Support chocolate work, pastry decoration, plated desserts, and other pastry production tasks under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
Ensure all pastry products are stored, labeled, and rotated correctly according to FIFO, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
Maintain high standards of product quality, consistency, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout all production periods.
Clean and sanitize pastry equipment, utensils, molds, and workstations after use.
Minimize waste by handling ingredients carefully and reporting shortages or quality concerns promptly.
Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance requirements, or food safety concerns to the Pastry Chef de Partie.
Collaborate closely with the pastry team, bakery team, and broader culinary team to ensure efficient daily operations.
Continuously develop your pastry knowledge and skills by learning from senior pastry team members.
Your profile
Pastry school enrollment, pastry diploma, or equivalent entry-level culinary training is preferred.
Passion for pastry and a genuine desire to build a professional pastry career.
Basic knowledge of pastry preparation, kitchen hygiene, food safety, and HACCP principles.
Experience in a hotel, restaurant, bakery, pastry shop, or hospitality environment is an advantage.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
HACCP certification or willingness to obtain certification.
